Chinese EFL Teachers' Perceptions of Subtitles' Effects on English Comprehension and Vocabulary Acquisition

چکیده

This article reports on a qualitative study that evaluated Chinese EFL (English as Foreign Language) teachers' perceptions of the effects four different subtitling modes English comprehension and vocabulary acquisition learners in secondary education. The types subtitles refer to no subtitles, bilingual audiovisual materials. results indicated interviewees regarded use least effective for enhancing students' language proficiency. were perceived assist students with content but less at enabling them recall memorize lexis. aid some degree, while also inspiring develop their knowledge. Bilingual considered enhance both acquisition.
